SOCIO-POLITICAL INFORMATION ABOUT FRANCE
When Nicolas Sarkozy was in power, there was billions of Euros given to the banks. People are suffering deeply because of this. During Sarkozy’s presidency, the people had social cuts, plant closures, and wage reduction. Sarkozy made it clear in his speech for president that he would maintain the cuts until the end of his presidency. The only way the social and political needs of people could be met was if the government decided to carry out the socialist program. When Francois Hollande came into power earlier this year, May 2012, he swore that he would do whatever he could to improve France. Since May, Hollande has done a lot to better the economy in France. People actually want to live there now. He created socialist programs including unemployment benefits, job seeking opportunities, and actually looking at the income rates of people and depending on their income, giving those benefits.
